Check for infection & inflammation
For this treatment, we remove tartar just like with a regular cleaning, plus we get in between your teeth and down to your gums. This is known as scaling and root planing. In addition, I’ll examine the pockets of your gums to see if any infection or inflammation is present. If so, the areas will be cleaned and disinfected to control recurring inflammation.
Dislodge Tartar
Cleaning around crowns, bridges and implants
Dental bridges, implants, crowns and veneers are huge investments. Keeping them clean and the surrounding structures healthy, with the knowledge of how to care for them at home, will help protect your investment.

sealants
Protect Young Teeth
Say no to cavities
Sealants are highly recommended to prevent cavities in deep fissures of newly erupted molar teeth, especially for kids 6 years and older. Fissure sealants are a thin plastic coating placed in deep fissures of the back teeth where the toothbrush bristles can not reach, to prevent bacteria and food particles getting stuck causing cavities. Adults with high cavity risk, are also candidates for fissure sealants.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is tooth whitening safe?
Yes. Clinical studies have shown that whitening your teeth with carbamide or hydrogen peroxide under the supervision of a dental professional is safe for teeth and gums..
What causes teeth to discolour?
Discoloration on teeth can be caused by lifestyle choices, such as certain foods we consume, coffee, tea, red wine and smoking, causing surface and intrinsic stains making teeth appear darker or not as bright as they used to be. Certain medical or dental conditions can also cause changes in teeth color such as certain medications, poor oral hygiene, trauma to a tooth or teeth, and genetics.
Why do teeth discolour?
There are many causes of tooth discolouration. Some of the most common include the consumption of highly coloured foods and drinks (berries, coffee, tea, red wine). Some medications, aging, smoking and trauma can also cause teeth discolouration.
Will whitening damage my teeth and existing dental treatment?
The ZOOM whitening gel contains ACP and potassium nitrate which does not weaken, damage, soften or remove the enamel of your teeth and it has no adverse effects on existing dental work such as fillings or crowns. In fact it protects your enamel and gives your teeth a greater lustre and smoothness!
How long will my Phillips Zoom results last? (with Phillips 1 L)
Zoom in-chair whitening results can last 3-5 years depending from person to person. Whitening treatments remove existing stains, but through consumption of coffee, tea, certain foods, red wine and smoking or just through natural aging, your teeth may eventually become discoloured again. Maintenance whitening can help combat recurring discolouration. Are there any side effects? Although the ZOOM whitening gel utilises ACP and potassium nitrate for extra relief without compromising on the quality of your whitening treatment, the most common side effect is temporary tooth sensitivity. This is generally experienced during or after treatment but usually goes away within a few hours after whitening. Some people do not experience any sensitivity, whilst others do experience sensitivity to some degree. Your dental professional will also advise you of other ways to minimise any temporary sensitivity.

Mouth guards
Sports guards and anti-grinding mouth guards
Custom mouth guard
Wearing a custom-fitted mouthguard or biteplate, is the best way to protect your teeth against damage from grinding (bruxism) or clenching especially at night. They may only cover the upper teeth or both upper and lower teeth. If you have severe bruxism, your mouthguard needs to be made of a stronger and thicker material to make sure your teeth will be protected.
Sports guard
Sport mouthguards cover the upper teeth and are worn while playing contact sports that can put your teeth at risk of injury, such as rugby, football and hockey. Sports mouthguards can also be worn with braces and aligners and are available in different colors!
Easy maintenance
A special tray case will be provided to store your mouthguard or sports guard in. After use cleaning is just with a soft bristle toothbrush using water and soap.
